Adopt a Dog

Murphy
My name is Murphy and I'm a two year old Labrador/mix. I know my basic commands, I'm okay with other canines, and I don't mind felines as long as they keep to themselves. I'm generally very quiet and I keep my quarters tidy. If I choose to engage in activities, I prefer walks or hikes. I'm a very easy guy to live with and really quite handsome.

Adopt a Cat

samantha

Samantha is a gorgeous domestic long-hair mix. She is approximately two years of age and has been spayed. She has a playful personality and would make a loyal companion who is sure to add joy to the life of the lucky family who adopts her.

We are supported 100% by donations. The most reliable and consistent part of this support is provided by our members. We literally would not be able to keep our doors open without our members. The animals that come through the door have had enough worries and hardships during their life. It is up to us to ease their pain and offer them the best care; while we try to find loving homes. We will never waiver in our belief that these animals deserve our best effort.

The board and staff are extremely proud of the standards and procedures set and implemented at the shelter. In fact, a cleaner, more welcoming humane society would be hard to find.

We are able to house over 40 cats and 20 dogs. Last year over 430 homeless dogs and cats were cared for and placed in their forever homes. During their stay with us our dogs enjoy outdoor exercise in our play yards and kennels. Their indoor kennels are roomy and well lit. Our "kitty condos" provide our cats with room to stretch and sleep. During the day our cats have their own sunny play room. All of our animals enjoy our in-floor heating throughout the building.

Please join our membership family. As a Member, you will receive the LTBHS Newsletter and invitations to future shelter events. To help homeless cats and dogs in Northern Michigan, become a member of the Little Traverse Bay Humane Society.
